The live-action Aladdin movie has seen its fair share of production troubles. The movie really struggled to lock down an actor for the titular role, even if they had people in mind for the rest of the main cast. Many questioned who will be the live-action Aladdin and it was difficult to lock down an actor who was middle-eastern and fit the profile. However, it seems they have found an actor who fits the bill.
Mena Massoud will be taking the role of Aladdin and if you have not heard of him, that isn’t a surprise. He is a relative newcomer with a short acting catalogue, but he seems to be a good fit for the role. Playing the part of Jasmine will be Naomi Scott and the Genie will be none other than the Fresh Prince himself, Will Smith.
The casting does make sense, even if the lead actor is a bit of unknown quantity. It has been a long and difficult road, but it seems we have reached some kind of conclusion.
