Movie News: Sandra Bullock Is A Bulwark Against Trolls Of Oceans 8

If you’ve been living under a meteor for the past while, you might not have seen that the relationship women have with Hollywood hasn’t exactly been the best. The atrocities have been stacked high and each day there are new horrors that come to light. However, there has been a strong resistance and women are not giving up without a fight. We saw the completely unjustifiable “response” to the Ghostbusters reboot which wasn’t based on the quality of the film, but just to break down the actresses that were involved in it since it was an all-women reboot.

Now, Oceans 8 sees another all-female cast that was traditionally an all-male cast and the “criticisms” have been flowing already. Sandra Bullock, who has been cast in the film, has been rather vocal about the abuse the castmembers have faced, but assures us that they will fight back. Here’s her full statement on the matter after being asked if they have received the same abuse:

We got some but boy, I mean, I’ll tell you, we’ve got some feisty women that will fight right back. It’s like, let’s just take a breath and let’s just see if we come up with something fun. There should be a moratorium. There should be a rule, you’re not allowed to say anything nasty until after it comes out. Obviously, that’s never going to happen.

When asked about parallels to the Ghostbuster reboot, she had the following to say:

They did put them through hell. And I’m still trying to figure out why. Forget what the final product was! There were four or five of the most talented comediennes in that film.

Bullock also commented on how unfair the criticism is and how it should be handled and how they went about creating Oceans 8:

Everyone should’ve just taken a breath and said, ‘let’s see what happens.’ It doesn’t take just five people to make a movie. It’s pretty much like around 300. So I keep reminding everybody, if you hate my film remember there’s another 299 people all around me.

We’re not a reboot. We’re just a this is what’s happening in 2017. It’s not even a passing of the torch. It’s a parallel story of another family member that was raised in the same family Danny Ocean was and what happens when Debbie steps out of jail with all of these amazing, powerful women.

Her words speak for themselves, no? It won’t be easy to break women down anymore and any whiny manbaby who feels betrayed by a different artistic direction will simply be laughed at. Keep doing what you’re doing, ladies.
